Hello.

John is a communications professional with 12 years of experience in managing content marketing strategy, boiling down complex topics for a wider audience and focusing of organizational messaging. He holds a proven record of writing and editing in a consumable yet informative style. Passionate about crafting stories, he’s an expert in highlighting people who reflect an organization’s narrative and goals.

“You want killer content in a quick turnaround? Look no further than John. His content team went from five people to him. He didn’t freak out. He simply put the work on his back and carried it to the finish line. John’s a champ. ” -Philip Ung, Deputy District Attorney, Santa Barbara County District Attorney

A SoCal native and a graduate from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at USC (Fight on!), John also was a Carnegie-Knight Fellow working on the News21 project, covering alcohol money in politics.

While at USC, he interned at The Daily Breeze newspaper and KPCC (now LAist 89.3) and served as staff reporter and associate news editor at Neon Tommy, the online news site at Annenberg, contributing city hall stories and feature articles. For one crazy summer, he interned at the New Statesman magazine in London on their web team.

In his life “Before Journalism,” John worked in the IT world as a systems admin and the friendly guy who helped the CEO with that dang printer that won’t print.
